🧠Caesar Questions & Help – Posting Guidelines
Welcome to the Caesar Questions section!
This is the place to ask questions, seek technical help, and get support from both the Caesar community and our team.
Whether you’re having trouble installing a plugin, configuring your setup, or developing your own extension—this is the space to get assistance and share knowledge.
To ensure helpful, clear, and respectful interactions, please follow these posting guidelines:
✅ Before Posting – Search First!
Many questions have already been answered. Use the search bar at the top of the forum to see if your issue or question already has a solution.
If you find a related post but it doesn’t fully answer your question, feel free to reply there rather than creating a duplicate thread.
📝 How to Write a Good Question
When asking for help, provide as much clear and structured information as possible. This helps others help you more quickly and accurately.
Include the following where possible:
A clear title that summarizes the issue.
Good: “Plugin installation fails on Linux (Caesar 2.1.0)”
Bad: “Help plz!!!”
Detailed description of what you’re trying to do.
What went wrong, and what you expected to happen.
Exact error messages or logs if available (use code blocks or paste services).
Your system environment:
Caesar version
OS and architecture (Windows/Linux/macOS, x64/ARM, etc.)
Java version (if applicable)
Steps to reproduce the issue if it’s a bug.
Screenshots or code snippets (use [code]
tags for formatting).
🙋‍♂️ Example Question Template:
**Title**: ConsoleViewer does not open on macOS (Caesar 2.0.1)
**Description**:
I'm trying to launch the ConsoleViewer on macOS Ventura. The Caesar panel launches fine, but the ConsoleViewer never opens when starting a server.
**Expected Behavior**:
The viewer window should open in a new window and connect to the selected instance.
**Actual Behavior**:
Nothing happens. There's no visible error, but in the log I see:
> [WARN] Unable to start ConsoleViewer: java.awt.HeadlessException
**System Info**:
- Caesar Version: 2.0.1
- OS: macOS Ventura 13.5.1, Apple Silicon (M1)
- Java Version: OpenJDK 17 (Zulu Build)
**Steps to Reproduce**:
1. Start the Caesar panel normally.
2. Select a server.
3. Click “Open ConsoleViewer”.
❌ What Not To Do
- Don’t post vague questions like “It doesn’t work”.
- Don’t demand urgent help – be polite and patient.
- Don’t tag moderators or developers unless necessary.
- Don’t ask off-topic questions (e.g., about unrelated server software).
- Don’t post your question in multiple sections.
